Judge Victoria Brennan: Former Assistant General Counsel
Judge Victoria Brennan has dedicated much of her life and her
career to public service. Her resume includes not only more than 13 years of
loyal service as Assistant State Attorney within the Miami-Dade State
Attorney’s Office, but also the opportunity to serve as Assistant General
Counsel within the Executive Office of Governor (EOG) Jeb Bush.
Judge Victoria Brennan accepted the role of Assistant General
Counsel—and the governor’s criminal law advisor—in 2005. And in this role,
Judge Brennan enjoyed a variety of responsibilities, including service as
liaison between the Governor’s legal team and such State of Florida criminal
justice institutions as the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of
Corrections and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Judge Brennan was
also responsible for advising the governor on both executions and matters of
clemency.
It wasn’t long after accepting this post that Judge Brennan was
appointed by Governor Bush to serve in the County Court of the Eleventh
Judicial Circuit, in Miami.
